The Revs picked up a big three points at home this week over a very good Sporting KC side that handn’t lost in seven games and put up 20 goals in their last eight. Teal Bunbury’s hotly-debated VAR goal in the 44th minute and Matt Turner’s third clean sheet of the year combined to give New England the 1-0 win. Revs are now 4-2-2 and sitting in fourth place, with a quarter of the season under their belts.
This week, we welcome in Brian O’Connell, Revs beat writer from Prost America, to discuss the upset and break down the strengths and remaining challenges of New England’s backline. We’ll also get into the sustainability of Brad Friedel’s vaunted two-a-day training sessions, and get an update on the ongoing Lee Nguyen saga.
Then the boys welcome back friend of the pod, Paul Vance, from Mount Royal Soccer, to preview the Revs’ trip north of the border where they’ll face a struggling Montreal Impact that continues to battle depth issues.
