The word of the week is “disappointing.”
The Revs traveled north of the border on Saturday and fell 4-2 to what had been a struggling Impact side on a day when Montreal desperately needed a win after giving up 16 goals amidst a four-match losing streak.
This match was another tale of two halves: New England outshot the Impact in the first half, but couldn't get past Montreal keeper Evan Bush, who leads MLS in saves, and notched nine stops this weekend. Diego Fagundez assisted Wilfred Zahibo's first of two goals, but it was too little too late as the Revs fell on the road and are now 4-2-3, which is good enough for sixth place in east.
This week, Ray, Jon and Eric welcome back friends of the pod, Jake Catanese, senior editor at The Bent Musket, and Sean Sweeney, Revs beat writer for the Boston Sports Journal. We also bring back old pal, Tej Sahota, of Waking the Red, to help preview Toronto FC’s visit to Fortress Foxborough this weekend.
