Going into a very tough week, with two matches against top tier MLS clubs, the boys in blue made us proud posting up 4 out of 6 possible points into their 2018 MLS Campaign tally. Things started off with a nail-biting draw against league leading Atlanta United FC where the Revs went down a goal in the first half but Matt Turner heroics kept them in the game and a questionable penalty at the death allowed the Revs to escape with a point. Next up was New York Red Bull, where the Revs showed a lot of character in a very physical game and after finding themselves one goal down early, managed to bounce back with well timed goals from Diego Fagundez and Teal Bunbury to take all 3 points. The Revolution are now 6-4-4 and have moved up to 5th in the eastern conference table.
We bring in friend of the pod, Jonathan Sigal from New England Soccer Journal to break down the details in both of these fixtures.
We then preview the Revs’ road trip this coming Saturday to Chicago with Shane Murray the MLSSoccer.com beat writer for the Chicago Fire.
