Episode 51: Playing for their contracts

Brad Friedel says all the right things about finishing 2018, but is it fair to say the first-year coach is looking past the eight remaining games to a roster he can call his own?

Friedel is frustrated, or, “befuddled” as he called it Saturday after New England drew 1-1 against a faltering Portland side that was without two of its’ best players and down their primary keeper less than 20 minutes into the first half. The Revs played comparatively better but still let two critical points slip away at home.

New England is now 7-9-10, in eighth place, and six very long points below the red line.

This week, RayJon and Alex welcome back Jonathan Sigal of MLS Soccer and the New England Soccer Journa lto discuss his in-depth piece exploring the remake of the Revs scouting operation.

We’ll kickstart the Hout 8000 and track the Revs’ ever-dwindling playoff hopes and then preview an NYCFC team with a badly-depleted roster. Can the Revs sneak away with a road win? We find out what it will take with Jonathan Sauerschell, of Blue City Radio.

Finally, we turn it over to you for Six States One Voicemail.
