In Bruce, the Kraft family trusts.
Late Monday evening the Revolution announced it was parting ways with long-time club staple and general manager, Mike Burns. Then, Tuesday morning, Revs fans awoke to news that the Krafts had reached a deal to bring former US Men’s National Team coach and five-time MLS Cup winner, Bruce Arena, to Foxborough as new manager and sporting director. Arena is expected to be formally introduced at a press conference Thursday, at Gillette Stadium.
Interim head coach Mike Lapper and his staff will remain in place until Arena takes the reigns. Lapper is expected to helm the club when they host Chelsea FC Wednesday evening and possibly on Saturday as New England travels to Montreal. We preview that match with Paul Vance, managing editor of Mount Royal Soccer.
Is Bruce Arena the man to right the ship and establish a winning culture here? We welcome Frank Dell’Apa, with the Boston Globe and Sam Stejskal, of The Athletic, to answer that and many more questions.
