Andrew Farrell and Brad Knighton took a break from slinging drinks to speak exclusively with Six States One Podcast on Tuesday as the boys participated in a celebrity bartending event at Brass Monkey, in Providence, to benefit MLS Kicks Childhood Cancer and Binkeez for Comfort.
Brad Friedel looks to be riding the hot hand of veteran keeper Brad Knighton as the Revolution prepare to host the Chicago Fire and begin their final six-game run of the 2018 campaign. Knighton said little has changed about the way he prepares: “I train every day as if I’m the starting keeper.”
Knighton has proved a steady hand over his eight years and says all three keepers on the Revs roster challenge each other every day in training. A North Carolina native, his family was among those impacted recently by Hurricane Florence. Revs’ fan looking to contribute to the relief effort in the Carolinas can do so through the American Red Cross.
Andrew Farrell says he still feels the consistent support of The Fort at the team’s back, and believes supporters with “stick with” the Boys in Blue as they look to make a late playoff run. Farrell has worn the captain’s armband over the last few games and recognizes the faith and trust Friedel has placed in him. Being the captain, he says, is “an honor” and “there’s a lot of guys in our locker room who could wear it.”
